The Bath
Mary Cassatt, in full Mary Stevenson Cassatt (1844-1926) American painter and printmaker who was part of the group of Impressionists working in and around Paris. She took as her subjects almost exclusively the intimate lives of contemporary women, especially in their roles as the caretakers of children. Born in America but lived most of her life in France. She was close friend with Edgar Degas and they both in their artworks depicted movement and light.
