Patricia Carolina - Burden
Oslo based artist Patricia Carolina (MX) occupies water, ephemeral materials and time-base elements, to generate hyperbolic and farcical situations. She identifies domesticity in its different shapes, from house appliances to maintenance labor. In her drawings and sculptures, she observes some similarities between contemporary botany and migration flows.
The performative character of her installations, signalises the effects of the prevalent economical system on single bodies; tears, sweat, rain and sewage. In Patricia’s practice, water embodies movement but also fluctuation. Water gives shape, takes shape and takes it away. Patricia graduated from the Iceland University of Arts in 2019, and is currently pursuing a MFA at Kunsthøgskolen in Oslo.
