Guðlaug Mía
Eyþórsdóttir

Guðlaug Mía Eyþórsdóttir (b. 1988 in Iceland) received her BA in Fine Arts at the IUA in 2012. She completed her MA of Fine Arts at the Koninklijke Academie in Gent, Belgium, in 2018. Recurrent subjects in her work are everyday objects, symbols and spaces, both public and private. By transforming sizes, materials and shapes of familiar objects she explores how the viewer’s connotations construct their own meaning. Alongside her own practice she has been involved in various art projects. She founded and ran, alongside other artists, the exhibition venues Kunstschlager in Reykjavík and ABC Klubhuis in Antwerpen. She has also produced multiple publications and co-created Blái vasinn, an online database of interviews and writings of Icelandic artists.
